BLOG POST 4: Kitchen Model


To make storyboarding easier, I decided to model the kitchen that I'll be using to make my storyboards and use for backgrounds for my animation. I used Sketchup, which allowed me to easily transfer over my model to the storyboard program. 

It was tough going only off of pictures, as I didn't have any floorplans or measurements to go off of. This is fine, though it might be a tad bit inconsistent. The model is more of a guideline, so the exact inaccuracies are okay!

BLOG POST 3: Reference Sheet

  When deciding on a character for my animation, I wanted to go with something I know best. I decided to use an already existing character I have, with a little bit of a change to better fit the style I was hoping to animate with! Because this animation is more focused on the story and visuals, I'm not too worried about the character being super unique, so I'm okay with this design. I had to make a character that I would model and rig for my 3D Animation class, so I had to draw her with no clothes as well. But thankfully, this helped me get a pretty good design on her body without the clothes and might give me a better chance at the anatomy. Also, modeling her in 3D will also give me a tight grasp on poses, anatomy, and other useful things, which is why I chose to use the same character for both projects.

BLOG POST 2: Moodboard and Kitchen Concepts

MOODBOARD      THE MAIN LOCATION My animation will take place in most likely, only one area, or at least for most of it, the kitchen being cooked in. I want to display it from multiple angles and have a chance to put a lot of detail into it. This kitchen is based on my childhood home kitchen, which burned down recently.
